THE CARS
All OT Coupe Cup with Toyo Tires race cars are built using a custom kit, specifically to keep each car's performance equal, and to keep costs down. There are four different generations of Hyundai Coupe on the grid and all have very balanced performance. Control parts ensure that each car is built to the same specification, which leaves just driver skill to determine the race results. There are just a few changes that separate the race cars from it's road car starting point.

Safety Equipment
Well, as always in any form of motorsport, we make sure that our drivers are as safe as can be when stepping into one of our race cars. Safety Equipment installed into the cars includes a Safety Devices specific roll cage, bucket seat, 6-point harness system, fire extinguisher and exterior pull switches. These items must conform to Motorsport UK standards and be in full working order, and in-date.

Performance Enhancements
Although the cars aren't changed dramatically in their conversion to racing machines, there are a number of small changes that add up to a large gulf in lap time. The main difference is the tyres; Toyo Tires have created a series-specific R888R compound of tyre which delivers excellent grip and durability; perfect for cost-effective, hard racing. The brake pads on a race-spec Coupe are also improved; EBC Brakes' Bluestuff pads give exceptional bite and can take the punishment of a hard-fought race. Gaz Shocks provide race-spec shock absorbers for the Coupe Cup, which drivers can adjust to fine tune the handling of their car. Pipercross provide the only engine improvement with a race spec air filter to suck in the cool air whilst in the heat of battle! Optional upgrades to the car include an oil cooler and racing rear wing, as opposed to the standard rear wing on the standard car. Cars of every generation of the Coupe can still be built to race in the series - contact the teams using the contact page.
